Clothes That Don't Feel Like Clothes PART TWO
Okay so…we’re sweating. Given the glowing success of last week’s Clothes That Don’t Feel Like Clothes, I decided to go for round two! It’s a long way from here to Halloween, people…let’s stay comfortable. Below, a whole new set of options for those of us who prefer not to feel like we’re wrapped in Saran during summer’s most sweltering days.
Cover Up: Ah, the casual cover-up. A mainstay of summer style and a garment that gets away with a LOT, I like this one because it comes in more colors than you’ll be able to chose from. (White is my fave.) This style goes up to a 3X and is one of the most comfortable looking, affordable garments I’ve come across in quite some time. Please note its 2,600+ ratings.
Slouchy Tee Dress: If you need a casual, comfy, slouchy and therefore stylish maxi dress, this is the one for you. It comes in three colors and is just the kind of thing I’m looking for when I have to leave the house (with a mask) in order to see other people. You’re basically an ankle bracelet away from fully styled here. There are pockets. I repeat, there are pockets.
Glorious Tee: If you like a tee shirt dress that moonlights as simply an actual shirt, here you go my friend. Comfy, breezy, and versatile, if you’re feeling faint from the heat but reluctantly you have to…you know, get dressed, start here.
Flowy Thingy: I know, I know, sleeves. But hear me out. This is an incredibly breezy, caftan-like garment that comes in a ridiculous number of colors and styles. It’s ideal for both leaving the house and never, ever leaving the house. It goes up to a 2X and is truly the perfect cross between a nightgown and real clothes.
Poofy Sleeve Dress: If you do have real plans for some reason, how cute is this?? We love linen, we love a ruffle, we love the mild prairie vibes we’re getting. Also it’s $80 so…win.
V Neck Perfect Dress: I am of the belief that you can never have too many of these dresses in your closet. Long, v-neck, casual but easy to dress up, it’s a complete wardrobe no brainer. I also love to wear bike shorts under these, but you can also opt for some extremely cute thigh bands for protecting your skin from the heat.
Long Button Down Flowy Thing: I’ll take three. Is it a dress? A shirt? A jacket? A spy coat? What’s even happening? I’m not quite sure but I do know I need one in every color. I love garments that are versatile and also don’t touch my skin that much, so this is a Shani Shirt if ever I’ve seen one.
Just A Great Plus Size Tee Shirt Dress: Literally. You know what to do. (Available in sizes 14-36 and in four colors, and it’s less than $30!)
Flowy Tank Top: At this point I’ll buy anything I can wear atop my bike shorts, and this super cute, slightly ruffly moment qualifies. I love a high neck so that I can stop frikkin’ sunburning my décolletage every time I leave the house, and I love the way it ties in the back. Very easy item to throw on all summer. And fall, if it’s still hot in fall where you are. As it is here. But I’m not bitter.
Cropped Onesie: Long live a onesie. This V-neck moment comes in three highly versatile colors, is available in sizes S-4X, and is very, very easy to dress up or extremely down. Also, pockets.
Boho Dress: Just a beautiful bohemian dress for your summertime antics. This dress is available in plus sizes only, and comes in three colors. This one shown has the most size options still available. :)
Off-Shoulder Linen Number: Don’t mind me, I’m just going to float off into space in this dress, thx. This slightly poofy linen dress can be worn with the sleeves up or down below the shoulders, and is exactly the kind of thing you want to be wearing when the temperature outside resembles that of a pizza oven’s interior. Please note that this brand creates styles that are one-sized.
