Hi, I’m Shani

I’m the host of A Single Serving Podcast and the author of A Single Revolution. I’m changing the narrative around being single, because so far it’s had pretty bad PR. I’m not an advocate for singlehood. I’m an advocate for women feeling good while single—there’s a difference.

Advent Calendars That Will Absolutely Sell Out

Advent Calendars That Will Absolutely Sell Out

Just in case you’re unfamiliar with my work, I love single women celebrating themselves. I love single women gifting themselves. I also love single women surprising themselves, which in my years of experience is kind of hard to do. Self gifting is amazing, and can feel just as special as getting a gift from someone else, if not more so. But…you already know what the gift is, which removes the element of surprise. UNLESS.

I publish a holiday season gift guide full of gifts for single women to buy for themselves, and I’ll do the same again this year, but something tells me that by the time it arrives, these Advent Calendars will be long gone. (They’re really fun, and let you try a ton of great products in small sizes, so people love these things, and they fly off digital shelves.) Advent Calendars are a GREAT way for single women to surprise themselves at the holidays. (This only works if you don’t read the list of included products by the way, unless you want to, in which case go for it.) So below, a list of shoppable advent calendars in advance of what will be a much larger discussion of self gifting as we move into the holidays. Grab yours now, hide it from yourself until December, yay.

Sephora Wild Wishes: File this under Advent Calendars full of things you’ll actually use. This Advent Calendar features Sephora-brand products that fit into your day-to-day usage routine effortlessly, so you know you’ll get your money’s worth. (It’s got plenty of stuff that’s just for funsies too, don’t worry.)

L’Occitane: If there’s a L’Occitane product I don’t love, I’ve yet to find it. I actually hoard small sized products from this brand because they’re absolutely ideal for travel when we’re using questionable hand soap from various public places and allowing recycled air to affect our skin. (I’m obviously speaking pre-AND POST-covid here.) You will always be thrilled to have one of these little wonders with you, whether you’re traveling by plane, train, or automobile.

Macy’s: Okay, I’m going to ignore my own advice here and outright tell you to look at everything that comes in this box! It’s PACKED full of luxury beauty and skincare from some of the most beloved brands in existence. Definitely among the more luxe options, this is the ultimate “I made it through 2020” self gift.
