Single + Child-Free In The Workplace. What's That Like?
File this one under: surreal. Harvard Business Review’s podcast Women At Work is, in addition to being something with the word “Harvard” in the title, an illuminative and inspiring podcast for professionals looking to expand their perspectives. I still can’t believe I was asked to be on this podcast, but here we are.
Along with Professor Tracy Dumas of Ohio State University, I was interviewed by the show’s hosts on topics dear to my heart. I discussed my personal experiences and encounters as a single, child-free woman in the workplace, and Professor Dumas discussed her research on the same topics. I like her part better than mine.
If you’ve ever looked at your partnered/parent colleagues and wondered why workplace norms operated differently for them than for you, give this a listen.
