The $14 Sunglasses I Can Lose Without Crying
I’m a breaker. A misplacer. A scratcher, if you will. Regarding sunglasses, I’m a liability, and therefore it doesn’t make much sense for me to invest in quality, designer items when it comes to things like shades, umbrellas, and other situational-use items that Lyft drivers collect by the dozens.
A brief story: Many years ago, I had a pair of Dita sunglasses in the style called “Lotus.” No pair of eyewear has ever looked better on me or brought me more sartorial joy. I paid about $175 for them. And after about two years of blissful wear, I left them on the counter at an American Apparel store and I never saw them again. It still hurts. While I’ve perused eBay and maybe even thrown my hat in the ring (ugh hats, another thing I lose), a few times, I’ve never repurchased them, because I’ve finally admitted who and what I am. I am a woman who loses sunglasses, and therefore has to limit accessory expenditures to $20 or less.
Enter my new sunglasses, a feat of eyewear engineering that manage to be almost as cute as my Ditas, at a fraction of the price. The sunglasses pictured here come in at a cool $13.98 with a 10% discount if you buy two pairs. They come in a variety of color options, though I prefer the ones shown. They’re comfortable, affordable, and make me feel pretty much like a 70s spy when I wear them.
Have i purchased cheap sunglasses before? Sure. Have I written about them? Never. That’s because no pair has over-delivered in terms of style while simultaneously under-delivering in terms of detriment to my bank account. These are the glasses. These are them. And if you too would like stylish shades that won’t make you cry when someone steps on them at the pool, get yours here.
I purchased the glasses I discuss in this post, they were not gifted. Links used in this post are affiliate links.
